Lunch & Learn Event: SaskPower Planning a Clean Energy Future

Lunch & Learn

Wear your ugliest holiday sweater to be entered to win one of four $25 gift certificates to a local restaurant of your choice!

SaskPower is up for the challenge of planning a clean energy future for Saskatchewan!

Join Nanette Salamon, Manager of Generation Planning to learn about the range of low or zero emissions sources SaskPower is evaluating to support a clean energy transition in Saskatchewan.

We’ll discuss carbon capture and storage, wind, solar, importing power from outside of Saskatchewan, nuclear power from small modular reactors and the many other options being considered.

Speaker: Nanette Salamon, Manager of Generation Planning - SaskPower

Nanette Salamon heads up a team of engineers at SaskPower responsible for the technical assessments of power supply options in Saskatchewan. From decommissioning a hog manure-fed biogas microturbine demonstration to commissioning the carbon dioxide compressor and pipeline at the world’s first commercial coal plant with carbon capture and storage at SaskPower’s Boundary Dam Power Station near Estevan to (safely) standing on top of a 50-meter Vestas wind turbine, Nanette has always kept a keen eye on improving our energy future. In her spare time, she likes to learn languages and enjoy the outdoors with her husband and three very intelligent daughters. Nanette holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.E.) – Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
