You will focus on cost optimization, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement, while leading and developing your team. In this role, you will:
- Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies that align business unit objectives and procurement strategy within assigned spend categories
- Identify value delivery opportunities including cost savings, cost avoidance, process improvements and efficiency across supply chain activities
- Lead collaborative cross-functional teams to implement projects and initiatives that support category strategies
- Implement supplier relationship management framework for strategic suppliers to monitor performance and identify opportunities to strengthen partnerships
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on category trends and risks
- Develop proactive risk mitigation strategies for supply disruptions, market volatility and geopolitical events
- Provide reporting on category performance, value creation, project updates, and supplier metrics
- Manage a small team of sr. specialists that are responsible for strategic sourcing, contracting and vendor performance activities within assigned categories
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree within a related field (business/commerce or engineering)
- 10+ years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience, including experience in category management
- Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
- Intermittent travel to northern Saskatchewan and Ontario sites is required
Recommended:
- Experience in mining or manufacturing industries preferred
