This month’s speaker is Ms. Rana Biesenthal.

Ms. Rana Biesenthal is a Psychological Health and Safety Facilitator at Bridges Health. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Saskatchewan as well as a Bachelor of Social Work degree from the University of Regina.  Rana is also a Registered Social Worker through the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers. As a registered clinical social worker by trade, Ms. Biesenthal has been directly involved in case management, adult facilitation and psychological assessment and teaching.  Rana is also a certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor through the Mental Health Commission of Canada and a MINDfull™ Manager Series Facilitator through Bridges Health.

In this lunch and learn, Ms. Biesenthal will be sharing one of Bridges Health’s core curriculums on mental health in the workplace.  “Our Words Matter: The Power of Language in the Workplace” will provide practical knowledge and take-aways regarding using appropriate terminology in the workplace as well as learning about first person language and perspective taking in relation to psychological health and safety.   This interactive, adult-learning based curriculum brings to light and demystifies some of the stigma surrounding mental illness and how we as individuals can adopt healthy and supportive language in the workplace, and beyond.
